As we say in Polish, Wesolego Alleluia, Happy Easter!!
How incredibly appropriate the words of the Regina Coeli at this time:
Queen of Heaven, rejoice. Alleluia
For He, whom thou was worthy to bear. Alleluia.
Has risen as He said. Alleluia.
Pray for us to God. Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.
Because the Lord is truly risen, Alleluia.
For Christians, this is our holiest season, a time of great joy. It is considered the time when our faith has been fulfilled. Indeed, St. Paul stated that without the Resurrection, our faith would be in vain. So be joyful for our Lord is risen, he is truly risen.
For our council, Easter falls in the midst of a very busy time. Coming off a fantastic Irish fest honoring St. Patrick (thanks to our chairmen, Charlie & Brian Peknic), as well as a great steak night and a 1st Degree. Our next big event is our 100 Club Dinner & Raffle, please contact chairman Dan Gerrity and support this important fundraiser.
On May 6th we will again work the CYO track meet at Lynbrook South and all hands will be needed. Of course, the Huckleberry Frolic greets us in June and our 2nd annual carnival kicks off in July.
Welcome to our newest 1st degree Knights and thank you for joining, I hope you will continue to advance in our order. Why join the Knights? As our Supreme Council has stated:
“Imagine being part of an organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference”. What better reason could you need.
Thanks to all the brothers and their families for continuing to support our council and our charitable efforts. May God continue to bless you all during this Easter season and throughout the year.Vivat Jesus
